Although Dunleavy has retired from his position as Deputy Inspector General of NY, he still continues his professional career by educating himself and others on the topics of terrorism recruitment and prison radicalization.

"The epicurean point at which thought becomes action is often unknown. In the area of radicalization we cannot wait. At some point it becomes necessary for authorities to intervene. Providing an opportunity for someone predisposed to commit a crime is not entrapment. It is simply a tool in combating this new segue to jihad called self radicalization."

He has written numerous articles for publications like the New York Post, IPT News and the Washington Times, analyzing both current links to terrorism in the news and his learnings from past cases he investigated during his career.  He has been asked to speak to various organizations, including the United States Army's Anti Terrorism Conference, the US Air Force Special Operations School, the IPT counter-terrorism briefing at the Harvard Club in New York, and was a guest at the International Counter Terrorism Conference in Israel. He has also been interviewed by ABC, Fox News, WPIX, WABC, NPR Talk Radio, CNN, and other news outlets. Patrick served as a consultant for both the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the FBI on a national data exchange program. He currently teaches a class for the US Military Special Operations School.

Mr. Dunleavy is available for both Consulting and Risk (Threat) Analysis, along with speaking engagements.
